FH Offen - Hüpfburg Bitte nur Barfuß

canvas chairMy yesterday´s schedule: Buying sun cream and a canvas chair. Relax. Whatelse do you need? So I hope you excuse my irregular logging. The weather is just too great to sit in front of a computer. I hope on Saturday it will be as sunny as it was the last days. FH offen takes place with motivation accelerators like bowle in the audio studio and a bouncy castle as I heard. We will be there!

Mixed Salad in Delicious Dressing

Mario at Mediensalat, FH Bielefeld

Mediensalat was a very felicitous event with several very interesting lectures concerning media design, specially web design and the possibilities of the internet from very different points of view. Two examples in a nutshell: Mario (see picture) from Punapau (listen lofi | hifi ) talked about the intelligent combination of visual and audio elements which is usually disregarded by the visually fixed designers. Tobi lectured among other things about political potentials (popo.at) which opened up with the internet. Furthermore there were students from Swedish hyperisland and Austrian Dornbirn. Some nice pictures of this event can be found on greenwoodworks, videos on mediensalat. I´m happy to hear that mediensalat shall not die after this event and that the site shall become an upgraded version of the current page, i.e. a platform with postings from several authors and (planned) the possibility to directly comment them. Thanks to all participants, it was really interesting.

Das war knapp

We finally got an official announcement on the tuition fee which will be introduced in autumn in Austria (5000 ATS each semester). Everybody who started studying at the FH Vorarlberg before 2001 does not have to pay any fees at all. Reason: there exists a contract between the students and the FH where fees are not provided. Unfortunately the oncoming semesters won´t be so lucky.

Day One

Day OneI´m finally here in Dornbirn. On Sunday we moved in our house in the Wiesenstraße 8. What happened so far? Jam sessions in the kitchen, strange experiences in our toilette with this "LSD trip design wallpaper" (wait for my pictures) and a hangover on the first day of studies. In about four weeks we will have a party in our new house. The studies? It´s a bit early to estimate this, but I know for sure what it will not be like: Honiglecken.

Hühnerbrüstchen gebraten auf Gemüsenudeln und Salat

Wiesenstrasse 8, Dornbirn, AustriaThis was the dish of last Monday in the restaurant of the FH Vorarlberg, let´s see what there will be this Monday. Tomorrow I will go to Dornbirn for an introductary tutorium. And in about one week, on Sunday october 1st, I will move to the Wiesenstraße 8, which is a flat-sharing community, a WG.
School will start on october 2nd, and I´ll finally be inside. I´m curious. ( As I have some things to manage here I don´t know yet if I can continue this weblog the next days.)

Mixed Pixels

For their diploma my brother Tibor and his fellow student Christian will "design a day" at the FH Bielefeld (their school), the Swedish Hyperisland and the Austrian FH Vorarlberg where I will start studying on october 2nd. These three schools shall be linked with webcams, metababy - which is a page that can be edited by everyone - will also play a role. For further information visit mixpix which is their diploma diary.

And the Oscar goes to ...

OscarWow! I made it! Some minutes ago I opened a letter from FH Vorarlberg. The interview on Monday was not too good so I did not think that I would succeed. But I did. So in about 2 month on October 2nd I will start studying in Dornbirn, Austria. So get used to mail to nugob@gmx.at.

17.7. - 10.45 - Foyer

This date decides what I will do for the next four years and where I will do it.
I am invited to come to Dornbirn to have an interview at the FH-Vorarlberg for the course of studies Intermedia. This interview is the last part of a three-step-entrance-procedure. The first part was a so-called Reihungstest, a very stressful test which puts the applicants for the school in a certain order. Part two: a homework including three tasks. On Monday there will be the interview. So keep your fingers crossed for me!
