Open Sesame: Nugob Meets KeRMIT

»RMIT University is very pleased to offer you a place as an Exchange Student.«
That´s it. That´s what I have been waiting for. Thank you!

2500 Pixels of Cliché

KangarooIt´s nearly two years now that nugob.org saw the light of day. This is article number 100 - which means that I am rather lazy in weblogging (you are so right). However, at the moment it seems that I have a screen overdose and I just prefer to go outside. There is no digital recipe to compare with this analogue antidepressant: ingridients: a campfire, a handful of nice people, barbecue, beer and guitars (happened so yesterday evening).

Next to nugob.org which becomes 100 I become 25 years next Saturday. I did not really plan anything so far but I´m sure we will celebrate into the birthday on Friday. On Saturday there will be a beer-soccer match between the second and the fourth semester (this time also with a girl´s team). So whoever wants to visit me on May 24 or 25, set off!

Furthermore my days at the Villa are numbered. I will go to a semester abroad to the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Creative Media, in Melbourne, Australia. I will leave on July 16 until January 16 2003. I am very much looking forward to this. The university is a partner institute of the FH Vorarlberg, so I saw some impressing students works. The school really looks very promising. The semester ends on November 22, so I nearly have two month left to travel around there. I bought a digital ixus for daily snapshots, so I am sure you will find a more regular logging then. I just hope that my official letter of acceptance or enrolement will arrive soon from RMIT which I need for my student visum. I am still on tenterhooks because of this. Well, that´s the latest news so far. Sorry for the kangaroo, but I did not find a better cliché for Australia.

Münzprägung

selfhtmlUi! Version 8.0 of selfhtml is out now with a lot of additions like the new xml chapter. When I read sentences like "... richtet sich nicht an Leute, die mit dem Anspruch antreten, alles fertig vorgesetzt zu bekommen..." (on target groups) I wonder why a section like ready-made layouts was necessary. However, it´s a great documentation which is absolutely worth downloading (hey, it´s for free if you wish!). On second thoughts: in all likelihood without this documentation by Stefan Münz neither this page nor any of my projects would exist and I would do anything now - but not my current course of studies. Thank you very much.

Achwelle

Achwelle

A new project of mine is online (well, actually for about one month. I did not mention it because the url is still a temporary solution): achwelle, our students radio which broadcasts every week for about half an hour (except during vacations). If you don´t live in Vorarlberg and so you cannot receive the broadcast on Wednesdays at 22.03 pm on 98.2 MHz you should be able to download it as mp3-file or to listen to it via audio-streaming (which still seems to cause problems) in the archive. I hope you enjoy the project.

Fresh as Paint

Art FactoryFinally nugob.org is rewritten and online. New features: You can now comment my articles as well as the guestbook entries. Furthermore I added an archive and a linklist (which will be filled little by little).
Another new feature is the artfactory, a combination of html, javascript, php and mysql. Create your own artwork, save it and send it as a greeting card. Just have a look!

Aller Anfang ist schwer.

RätselrennenLater today in Munich you will have the chance to watch a rare species of riddle freaks waiting in a queue for the earliest issue of tomorrow´s Süddeutsche. The Rätselrennen, Germany´s most difficult riddle, will keep them off their work and holiday for three weeks again. Keep a level head, freaks!

Art Factory

Art Factory

Maybe now nugob.org is worth a look again. Having not updated my page for about 2 1/2 months I now uploaded a new script of mine: art factory. I developed it for the subjects English and Kommunication Technologies. The instruction was to "visualize the design process" (whatever that means) with one interactive page using Javascript techniques. Javascript was the topic of this semester in Kommunikation Technologies (which actually means that we had to teach it ourselves - boom!). So for my first really selfwritten Javascript it cuts a fine figure. The one big drawback: it´s not a crossbrowser script, it was just not possible to transcript everything for Netscape so I decided to concentrate on the Internet Explorer. So just challenge your creativity - you will be able to create a unique artwork within seconds.

Papal Bowling

walkcycleSome nice games found on idleworm. Next to the animations and games there are also two animation tutorials on how to animate a bouncing ball and the more complex walk cycle. Following a few links I also found the the animation learners site, a quite detailed tutorial on drawn animation and animationmeat, a site with notes from professional animators, model sheets and good links.
