Great Ocean Road - Day Three: All Along the Watchtower

Beach on the Great Ocean Road

On the third day on the Great Ocean Road we stopped at a watchtower. Actually we wanted to go to another waterfall, the Rainbow Falls, but for some reason we didn´t find it, so we made our way a bit across country to a lonely beach. The water was still quite cool and yeees: the sun is quite sharp in Australia. Amateur travellers as we are we forgot the suncream in the car.

Tim and the Sea

Looks familiar? Tim and the sea part 2.

Andrea in Broccoli Country

Andrea on the way to the beach - like a carrott in a pot of broccoli.

The Path to the Beach

The steep way down to the beach. In the picture: Peter(le), Kirsty, Tim and Cicilia.

We spent some time there. Actually the best thing on this trip was that we took time for everything. It is easily possible to get from Melbourne to the main tourist attraction, the Twelve Apostels (see day four), and back in one day - but you will miss a lot.

The Surf

We got wet, but you can´t call it swimming. The suction of the sea was quite strong here.

We continued our way to a small town near to the Twelve Apostels where we stayed in another Backpacker Hotel.
